Player for a Day

October 12, 2016 — 9:02am CDT

Dear Senior Parents:

It is hard to believe it is that time of the year.  Senior night is this Friday.  It has been a pleasure to work with this group of seniors.  They are amazing young men.  They work hard in the classroom, and they excel on the field.

I really appreciate your support both this year and the last couple of years.  Change can definitely be a challenge and I appreciate the opportunity to come here and be a part of Mount Vernon Football.

This Friday I would like to invite all of the senior parents to "A Player for a Day" activities.  You are invited to be a part of the pre-game talk at the auditorium and the pre-game practice on the field.  You are also welcome to join us for the halftime talk and adjustments, as well as on the field after the game for the post game talk.

We are very proud of what we are building here and want you to have a unique opportunity to see what your son does on game nights.

Prior to the game and immediately following the JV game we will meet in the East end zone.   The football team will have a tunnel down the middle of the field for you and your son.  You will walk down the tunnel, turn left and stand on the sideline side of the numbers starting at the 40 yard line.

When all of the senior football players are introduced, please say your final word(s) of encouragement and we will begin with our pre-game warm-ups.

Thank you for all that you do.  Thank you for the opportunity to work with your son.  Being a part of the Mount Vernon Football family is something that lasts a lifetime.  If there is ever anything I can do, please let me know.

Go Mustangs!

Coach Pedersen
