Matt Haddy named new Defensive Coordinator

Coach Pedersen is excited to announce the new defensive coordinator for the 2015 football season will be Matt Haddy.  

"Coach Haddy has great knowledge of the game of football and is a great teacher on the field.  He will bring with him great dedication and passion for the game." Head Coach Lance Pedersen continues on, "I am excited to have him join our staff and I look forward to working with him now through the summer in preparation for the 2015 football season."

Coach Haddy is currently the Head Baseball coach at Independence and will fullfil that contract this summer.  He plans on being involved with the football as well this summer in preparation for the season.

Coach Haddy played at Marion High School

Graduated from University of Iowa, Bachelors History/Political Science
MA in Sports Coaching/Sports Administration


Defensive Coordinator at Lisbon for four years. During that time qualified for playoffs all four years, won two district titles (2011 and 2012), two quarterfinals appearances (2010 and 2011), 2011 state champions (schools 1st title).
Defensive stats during that time: 2011: #1 ranked defense in Class A in points allowed 6.5 ppg, 2012 2nd in points allowed 9.0 ppg


2014 Assistant at Independence helping with offensive line and calling sophomore offense.


Head basketball coach at Lisbon for 6 years, 2012 state tournament appearance.


Enjoy playing golf, cheering for the Yankees, and spending time with my wife.


Coach Haddy has been married to his wife Lyndsi for 2 years, she teaches 1st grade at Lisbon, they live in Marion.
