College Player Profile: Robbie Peters Coe College

September 26, 2017 — 11:07am CDT

Robbie Peters was a standout football player for the Mustang football team under the direction of Head Coach Duanne Orr.  Robbie played in the Shrine Bowl and then went on to play for Coe College.  Below is the response from a survey we sent hm.  Good Luck Robbie as you finish your football playing career at Coe College.

My most memorable moment from my Mustang Football days, was in my senior year when we played Dyersville Beckman early in the season. Both of our teams were ranked going into it, and it came down to the wire at the end of the game. Our defense was able to make some key stops in the fourth quarter that helped us get the win!

College football is much faster, and the players are much bigger than in high school. There is also a bigger time commitment that it takes. Other than that though you're still playing for your college, just like you would play for your hometown. And the atmosphere is not that much different on game day. The rules are still the same, and it's still about blocking, tackling, and scoring touchdowns.

Mount Vernon was able to provide me with some really good coaches who were able to help me become a better athlete and football player at my position. I was also blessed with a great weight room and work out plans that help me be bigger and stronger, and ready for the transition to college.

Coe is a great place to go to school and play sports. It's still a small college, but being in Cedar Rapids it still has that bigger city feel. There's a great family atmosphere on the football team, and the coaches are top notch. I have enjoyed my time at Coe, and would do it all over again if I could.

Work hard, do your best, and listen to your coaches.

After college, I plan on attending law school. I also would like to get involved in coaching in some compacity, whether football or track and field. I love Sports and want to be around it and to give back.

I'm excited for the season! I think we can have another conference championship year, and another crack at the playoffs!

My parents names are Joe and Beth Peters

I played football, basketball, track and field, and baseball in high school.

In high school I was first team all district my junior year and senior year as well as second team and first-team all-state consecutively. I was also awarded defense of MVP after my senior year. Last year I was awarded First-Team Defensive End in the Iowa Conference. Also, after playing Wartburg I was named to the D3 football.com team of the week.

I love playing football, there's nothing quite like making a big tackle or sacking the quarterback on a big play!
